Piedras Blancas Lighthouse Tours :: Cambria. (28 miles north) can only be visited on a tour and it is definitely worth the effort to make a reservation. It began service in 1875 and is one of three tall seacoast lighthouses built in California. It is spectacularly located on the rugged pacific coast. 9:45a.m. Tours are offered Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, excluding Federal holidays. Meet at the former Piedras Blancas Motel, located 1.1 miles north of light station at 9:45 a.m. Do not wait at the gate to the lighthouse. $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6-17, and free for children 5 and under..
